Located on a gated 7.5-acre lot at the foot of Diamond Head crater, the Studio offers a quiet, secure shooting environment conveniently located within 30 minutes of the Honolulu International Airport, 15 minutes from downtown Honolulu, and just a few minutes from the accommodations, restaurants, and nightlife of Waikiki.

Managed by the State of Hawaii Film Office, the state-owned Studio complex consists of:

  • Air-conditioned, soundproof 16,500 s.f. soundstage with 29 ft. clear span interior height
  • Production office building
  • Construction mill
  • Three production office bungalows
  • Storage facilities
  • Parking
  • Restroom and shower facilities
  • Space for caterers
  • Utility hookups for mobile dressing trailers

The Hawaii Film Studio is the only state owned and operated film studio in the country, the studio was home to two of television’s longest running hits, Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum, P.I.. It has also served as the headquarters for other series including Jake and the Fatman, Raven, The Byrds of Paradise, One West Waikiki, Baywatch Hawaii, Hawaii, North Shore, Lost, The River, Last Resort, Hawaii Five-0 (reboot), Magnum, P.I (reboot) and currently, NCIS: Hawaiʻi; movies-of-the-week; episodic television shows such as Beverly Hills 90210 and ER (Africa episodes); documentaries; commercials; and feature films such as Fifty First Dates, Final Fantasy, The Rundown, Blue Crush, and Tears of the Sun.
